Dr. Zaha Khalifé Amarin
Founder, Orthodontist & TMD Specialist
Dr. Zaha enjoys working with children, teenagers and adults. Passionate about helping her patients smile out loud, she loves her work and is fully committed to holistic treatments built on a foundation of orthodontic and TMD expertise. She has been practicing orthodontics and creating smiles that change lives in her private practice in Amman since her return from the USA (1992). Taking every case as a personal challenge is what sets her apart and has led to her being a leading voice in the field. It hurts her to see patient's conscious of their smiles or trying to hide their joy.
Dr. Zaha has always had a fervor for healthcare and science. She attended both Georgetown University (USA) and Howard University (USA) where she graduated first in her class with honors and distinction. While completing her studies, Dr. Zaha noticed a great lack of research around lip posture and its role in orthodontic treatment. She was further troubled by this gap in knowledge when she realized that what little research that did exist was focused exclusively on facial harmony in caucasian patients. Understanding the differences across ethnic groups, and the importance of diverse representation in medical research, Dr. Zaha elected to conduct a first-of-its-kind research project examining lip posture in North American Black patients. Her Master’s Thesis exploring this topic led to her receiving the coveted Orthodontic Department Research Award and the American Association of Orthodontists Award. Upon the completion of her academic studies, Dr. Zaha received American Board Certification in Orthodontics.
Dr. Zaha continues to strive to explore the newest and most innovative developments by participating in conferences and workshops, both locally and internationally, to ensure her patients always receive the highest quality of treatment and most advanced dental and orthodontic care available. She personally performs all aspects of orthodontic and TMD treatment and oversees all dental care performed at the Center. Committed to advancing knowledge and expertise in the field, Dr. Zaha is a founder, and currently serves as, the President of the Jordanian Commission of Orofacial Pain & Dysfunction (JCOPD).
